Class Descriptions:
Mommy and Me:
Now that your child is walking, why not start dancing?! This introductory dance class uses the basics of ballet in a simple and playful way. Plie’, twirl, and jump in this exciting and magical dance class. Children develop balance and coordination while dancing, playing and learning. We use creative movement techniques and playful activities to help build their confidence and spark their love of dance. The teacher goes over basic steps and starts your child’s understanding of transitions from one activity to the next; while they get to interact with their caregiver the entire class. Moms and caregivers will get a workout out of the class as well, which is always a plus!! We promise to keep your kids smiling the whole class as well as yourself. So dress up in tutus and tiaras and join us for a class filled with obstacle courses, music, bubbles, imagination, dancing, and fun.
Ballet/Tap:
This class is a wonderful introduction to all styles of dance, and to learn all the fundamentals in ballet, tap, and jazz. On My Toes Dance has a very highly recommended curriculum that helps each dancer explore their personality and confidence through movement, music, imagination, and gross and fine motor skills. In the class they will work on balance, strength, and basic classroom skills including ballet terminology, spacial awareness, and music timing all while gaining self-confidence and a love for dance.
Ballet:
Ballet is one of the most important and rewarding classes a dancer can take! Ballet education begins with mastering the placement of the body, feet, arms, and legs. On My Toes Dance has a very highly recommended curriculum for ballet that teaches the importance of technique in a fun and creative way. At the Beginner level dancers focus on their coordination, technique, body placement, and ballet terminology. As the dancers move up in their ballet classes they start to focus on mastering strength, flexibility, and performance quality in their movement. All while learning an advanced level of ballet terminology and movement.
Pointe:
The strongest ballet students are invited to the next level of training which is Pointe. This class is invitation only, and only after a teacher has assessed and considered a dancer to be ready physically for pointe work. All pointe students are required to take a ballet class and one other technique class along with their pointe class.
Lyrical:
This style of dance is a very popular trend in the dance world today. Lyrical is a very artistic and expressive form of dance, all while implementing the technique you learn in ballet and jazz. It is a combination of three different styles of dance: ballet, modern, and jazz. It involves using a lot of emotion through dance, and tends to use slower music.
Tap:
This dance style involves creating rhythmic sounds and music with the feet. The class focuses on teaching balance, coordination, rhythm, and strength. It is a style where the dancer creates the music with their feet, or dances along to upbeat music. It is a fun and expressive class!
Hip Hop:
This dance style incorporates a street style with its movement. The students learn very high energy routines to upbeat music that focus on strength and rhythm. This class allows the students to use their own personality and confidence through movement.
Jazz:
This style of dance is a combination of several dance styles and techniques; such as Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, and Musical Theater. Typically this style is performed to energetic and lively music.. The students will work on body alignment, placement, and coordination; as well as learn the importance of isolations, and rhythm in dance.
Jumps & Turns:
This is a class that focuses on strengthening, and improving a dancer’s technique with a strong focus on jumps and turns. The class also has a fundamental focus on basic ballet and jazz technique. This class should be taken along with another technique class and is a no recital class.
Private Lessons:
Privates are the perfect opportunity for your dancer to work one on one with one of our instructors. Our privates are tailored to what your dancer would like to work on whether it’s ballet technique or an acro skill. Our experienced instructors leave your dancer feeling confident and excited to continue working on their technique. We can accomodate both one time privates and recurring privates of both 45 minutes and 1 hour. Our 45 minute private lessons are $75 and our 1 hour privates are $100. Private lessons are subject to studio and instructor availability.
Bop Baby Bop:
Join us in playing in a world full of music and delightfully tempting new things for your child to discover. This baby gym class inspires movement through play with interactive songs, parachutes, soft climbing steps, ramps, mats, tunnels, and bubbles. Playing with age-appropriate toys and guided motivation to crawl/ walk and interact with other babies. This is a great class for babies to be around other babies and start those socialization skills at a young age. It is also a great way to make new mommy/daddy friends!
Hippity Hop:
This introductory hip hop class is great for toddlers’ boys & girls! They will explore the world of hip hop, and dance through fun upbeat age-appropriate music and movement. Learn how to stretch and warm up their bodies, and follow the teacher through exciting dance routines, tumbling, obstacle courses, disco ball fun, and of course bubbles! So come try a class today!!
Tumble Tots/ Kinder Tumble:
Tumble Tots is the foundation of our Acro Program! Dancers learn the basics of balance, stretching, and coordination, all while following along to a teacher’s instruction! They also will begin to learn age appropriate mat skills like forward rolls and bridges and have so much fun!
Acro:
As dancers enter level 1, they work on their flexibility, balance, coordination, and strength as well as age and ability appropriate tumbling skills that are safe and fun. We will also begin to incorporate dance and music in the class so they can practice their new skills in fun routines! In Level 2, dancers focus on their flexibility and strength! Through progress cards, dancers are able to perfect their tumbling and acro skills at their own pace and be evaluated to learn new ability appropriate skills in a safe environment.
